Progress on the pinwheels.......

The embroidery below is what I have been working on whilst my back has been playing up. It is a Brenda Ryan Village Series Embroidery. I have just borrowed the Villages series no 2 from Cathy (no blog) and thought I would do that one as well. It was very relaxing to stitch and I am thrilled with the wee cottages. The series 2 has different lanes and a church so when I manage to finish that I will have the whole village completed. I really like her embroidery patterns and have also got the Cupcakes pattern to do at some stage. Have a look at her website and you'll see things a bit clearer.

I mentioned awhile ago that I was going to make my MIL a pinwheel quilt for her 80th birthday. I had hunted out 40 different blues and thought I would do 80 pinwheels. Anyway I have decided that I am going to make her much younger and have only made 56 pinwheels. This is still a really good size lap quilt for her and being this size I know she will use it. You what MIL and mothers are like when they are given things , they hate to use them. So I thought if I stuck to the original size she would probably put it on the spare bed, and it would take me so much longer to finish also. Anyway this way fingers crossed I will get it finished this week and we can give it to her on her birthday next week.

Glad to hear life with DS & DD are happier (for now!). Love Jed – he’s sweet, although it’s a shame you didn’t have what you should have had originally! And I think your cottages are really lovely, as too is the pinwheel quilt for MIL – clearly you’re now enjoying the bonus side of what you’ve been through with your back - lots and lots of sewing. Love Julia :0)
